You’ll enjoy the fragrance of traditional gingerbread spices, the hustle and bustle of medieval sausage eateries, and the rich taste of regional beers. Then trade your walking shoes for an apron as you make your way to Cookionista cooking school. You’ll get a hands-on Bratwurst-making experience in a state-of-the-art kitchen. Prepare tasty bratwurst salads, bake a crisp bratwurst-sauerkraut pie, and cook bratwursts in honey-balsamic sauce. And the best part? Savoring your creations for lunch!

The city prides itself on having the highest number of organic farms and slow food producers in the region. Educate your taste buds by trying regional products and goods including bratwurst, sourdough rye bread and cheeses. Experience local biodiversity and artisanal food production while you shop. The market is in the heart of the city next to the Marienkapelle, providing an authentic local experience. You can’t miss it.

    Included Night Out - Würzburg's Living Room

    Munch on German cuisine and mingle with locals on the Old Main Bridge, a gathering place so homey it's basically the city's living room. People sip Franconian wines and enjoy performances from local musicians and street artists. If you're feeling adventurous, follow your host to the famous steep vineyards or surrounding landmarks like the Würzburg Cathedral and Marienberg Fortress.

    U Time - Baroque Palace

    Go for baroque with a visit to the Würzburg Residence, famous for its grand staircase, hall of mirrors and ginormous ceiling fresco (larger than the Sistine Chapel’s).

    U Time - Beautiful Rothenburg

    Venture along the Romantic Road to what might well be the prettiest town in Germany, Rothenburg, which you can explore however you wish. Don’t miss the Medieval Crime Museum—genuinely creepy and well worth a visit, trust us.

    Visit with a young Franconian vintner in his picture-perfect village. You’ll learn his story of how he made a mark in a very traditional business, while you sample wines and traditional Franconian snacks.

  • DAY 6 - Wertheim & Miltenberg

    Included - Ride of Lohr

    Want to explore and get a workout in at the same time? We feel you. This bike ride along the Main will take you through the fairytale town of Lohr. As the home of Snow White and her seven dwarves, there’s plenty of magic to be discovered. Active bikers can press on for 20 more miles to the town of Karlstadt.

    Included - BBQ in the Vineyards

    After exploring idyllic Miltenberg, let’s head out to the vineyards for a fun party. We’ll celebrate summer with Franconian sausages, pork chops and veggies on the BBQ. Chat with new friends over craft beers, Franconian wines and some beautiful summer weather.

    U Time - Pretzel Making with a Master Baker

    Enjoy a pretzel-making class in historic downtown Miltenberg. In this fun, one-hour class you’ll learn how to twist and turn dough like a pro. Bake Master Frischmuth’s pretzels are famously twisted by hand and best enjoyed freshly baked.

    U Time - Paint and Wine

    Join local Miltenberg artist Rita Stern for a floating paint and wine class. You won’t just learn to paint the beautiful local ‘bocksbeutel’ bottle with its voluptuous shape, but you’ll also be able to taste the local Franconian Domina and Scheurebe wines.   • DAY 7 - Frankfurt

    Included - Frankfurt Foodie Call

    As continental Europe’s largest financial center and home to the world’s biggest book fair and auto show, Frankfurt attracts every kind of traveler. Head for downtown and immerse yourself in the world’s cultures. Check out the historical Römerberg in Old Town. Some of the buildings date back to the 14th and 15th centuries, but many were rebuilt after they were destroyed in World War II. Cap it all off with shopping in the city’s huge Sunday flea market.

    Included Night Out - Germany's Melting Pot

    Arrive in the heart of the city and follow your host on a short orientation walk. Afterward, it’s off to the races! Experience Frankfurt, a cosmopolitan city built upon contrasts. Eat, drink and be merry in the traditional Ebbelwoi bars in Sachsenhausen. Then class it up and dance through the posh clubs in the banking district. Frankfurt is made up of people from 180 different nations. Wealthy bankers, college students and granola drop-outs coexist in a city home to some of the highest, most avant-garde skyscrapers in all of Europe.
